The daily life of a parent is busy, to put it mildly. The lovely chaos of the morning routine, the implausible balance of daily tasks, and the continual enrichment of the afternoon & evening activities is a whole lot of life to cram into twelve small hours. Amazingly, within these daily 12-13-14 hours of family life is an extraordinary production of endearing moments, memories, accomplishments, and life lessons. Thus, the one-syllable word M-O-M seems to short, and bland, for all it entails.

I have always felt ‘MOM’ needed an outstanding adjective in front of it to softly describe all the nouns, verbs, & phrases that define/describe the role of a mother. Witty, Resourceful, Caring, Bold, or my favorite… Fabulous. Too much? Maybe, but all moms deserve ‘fabulous’ tagged to them at some point in their lives. Moms also deserve to feel connected; connected to their community, fellow moms, and personal interests.

Newport Connext has been swimming around in my head for many years after I had my son ‘R’. Then, as it always happens, fate caught a swift ride on the back of momentum and I found myself wanting to supply a voice, an informational outlet, and a connection to fellow local moms balancing life in one hand, while pitching future goals (fiercely) with the other.

The (our) goal is to provide an on-line source that connects local moms to their community, and provides useful information personally dedicated to our readers. So welcome into your new connection! Our simple, but fervent, source full of local expert voices, honest (spirited) dialogue, and a slue of children & family interests in Newport & Bristol County; I invite you to log on daily and find your connection.

See You About Town,
